The Most Perfect Wedding Weekend Imaginable

We just had our wedding at Skendleby Hall and it was beyond our wildest dreams. The house is absolutely stunning, and having all our closest family and friends stay under one roof for the entire weekend made it so special. Waking up in that beautiful mansion after our big day was magical. The Lincolnshire Wolds provided a breathtaking backdrop for our photos. The team were incredible and helped everything run seamlessly. It was more than a venue; it was an experience we’ll all cherish forever.

Excellent large group accommodation

Excellent large group accommodation – plenty of nice bedrooms (most ensuite!) and very well equipped catering set-up. The garden was a big hit with the kids and the location made a nice change for us, never having stayed in this part of the world before. We had a good day at the lovely Anderby Creek beach, and enjoyed the arcades in Skegness too. Amanda and Carol are the perfect hosts – communicative and nothing too much trouble.

We had our wedding at Skendleby hall on 04/06/2025, it was such a beautiful day in such a beautiful setting. It was perfect for what we wanted, and we weren’t rushed into one day which was amazing, we had a few days to relax and take it in with our nearest and dearest. A day I will always cherish.

Wonderful weekend stay at fabulous Skendleby Hall…

We stayed at Skendleby Hall for a birthday celebration. Skendleby Hall exceeded our expectations with its historical charm and modern comforts. Amanda, was very helpful and accommodating when making the booking, and Carol, Housekeeper, who lives close by made us feel very welcome and was happy to answer any queries.
The facilities were fabulous including snooker room, games room, barbecue area and the beautiful grounds.
We had a disabled relative who was very well catered for in a downstairs bedroom with disabled facilities in the bathroom.
There is a pub within 5 minutes’ walking distance and Skegness and Mablethorpe are not too far away should you wish to spend time at the beach! We would have loved to have stayed longer and would highly recommend Skendleby Hall.

I have just spent a weekend at this wonderful country manor house and it is just perfect for relaxation and recharging. Amanda is so helpful and the hall is just so beautifully decorated. I slept in the chapel room and it was just so comfortable, had a meal at the local pub and relaxed in the hot tub enjoying the gorgeous view and sunset over the Lincolnshire Wolds. Will definitely be back again, thank you Amanda, 5 stars xxx

Wonderful family getaway…

We had a wonderful family getaway weekend at Skendleby Hall. We were a party of 24 people aged from 11 months to 90 years young and the venue had something for everyone. Games to suit all ages, facilities to cater for every need. Beautiful surroundings, plenty to enjoy in the immediate area and beyond. Would highly recommend.

Experienced a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend at Skendleby Hall. The bedroom was warm and comfortable and the hall has recently been redecorated with new carpets throughout. The food was exceptionally good especially the Asian afternoon tea which was an event as well as a meal.
The classes on offer over the weekend included yoga, diamond light therapy, energy work, and each day finished with a sound bath. These were delivered by friendly professional therapists.

This was the first Retreat Weekend at Skendleby Hall and also my first retreat.
The accommodation in this beautiful hall was warm comfortable and exquisite.
The grounds and views are spectacular.
The food was delicious and extremely plentiful, I especially enjoyed both the traditional and Asian afternoon teas.
I did not know what to expect from a Retreat but all the therapists were great at introducing their therapies and enabling you to take part.
Sound bathing and chanting were definitely soothing and I am trying to utilise the breathing techniques.

I absolutely loved my stay at Skendleby…

I absolutely loved my stay at Skendleby Hall for the recent Retreat Weekend. A very homely and welcoming vibe. I experienced 2 different sound baths from Hannah and Tara, along with somatic breathwork with Alex and somatic yoga with Liz. A devine dip in the hot tub soaking in the views and calmness. To top it all off, we were incredibly spoilt by the onsite chef Fran with delicious freshly cooked food. I met a group of incredible ladies who all had their own story to tell. I feel very blessed. Simply Stunning

The whole experience was simply stunning, from arriving at the daffodil filled driveway, the opening class and final closing ceremony.

The whole hall is absolutely gorgeous, public spaces filled with unique antique furniture, bedrooms individually decorated, luxurious bedding and an overall feel of opulence.

The food prepared with love by a wonderfully talented chef, paella, Asian afternoon tea, traditional afternoon tea and so much more delighted the tastebuds.

The sessions were delivered by highly experienced therapists and healers in the most restful of places.

The uninterrupted views out to Wolds were gorgeous especially when sitting in the hot tub.

I arrived feeling very tense and stressed and by the following morning could already feel the tension releasing. On Monday morning I felt like a different person.

I would highly recommend these retreats and everyone involved was wonderful.

A magical experience.

Skendleby Hall is a magical place to stay, it overlooks stunning views of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The bedrooms are decorated to a very high standard and beautifully furnished. Providing the comfort, with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. Amanda and her team were very welcoming, and their aim was to make my stay enjoyable. They provided a person-centred approach. The Chef used healthy local grown produce to cook delicious meals, especially the afternoon tea and experiencing Asian food. Amanda was happy to provide historical information about the Hall and her vision for future events, which i certainly am interested in returning. I had attended the Retreat Weekend offering therapeutic Yoga, and so much more. I made new acquaintances and hope our paths will cross again. A big thank you to Amanda and her team, you are a special crew! 😊

Golden Wedding…

We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary with family and friends over 2 nights in early March 2025 at Skendleby Hall. It was an excellent venue for such a celebration. There were 20 of us, including 3 young children, ranging from 2 years old to mid 70s. We all had a wonderful time. There was plenty to keep the youngsters occupied. Skendleby has recently been refurbished to a high standard and is extremely comfortable. All the bedrooms are very well appointed and have their own character. There was plenty of room for everyone and the kitchens were well equipped. The drawing, music and TV rooms were excellent and all were put to good use. The drawing room was wonderful as a centrepiece for our get together and the grand piano in the music room came into its own before our anniversary dinner. (Clarks Caterers recommended by Skendleby were superb). The whole event was a very pleasant experience for everyone and Skendleby Hall was a very important part. We are very pleased we chose there for our Golden Wedding and can really recommend it. Many thanks to Skendleby.

28 of us

28 of us, for most of whom this was a second visit. Twelve years ago we enjoyed a joint birthday gathering for two 70 year olds. It was marvellous then and even better now.

All enjoyed the new facilities and very much the new decor and increased comfort. Most of us travelled over 200 miles for this great re-union.

We will be back for the first great-grand child.

Amazing Property

I’ve never actually reviewed Skendleby but I shall now. Having been to their other property, Pine Lodge for a number of special birthdays and unfortunately, it’s now no longer. I got in contact with Ruth about Skendleby for my gather in-laws birthday. Skendleby is absolutely gorgeous, lovely bedrooms, plenty of space and much more. The grounds that Skendleby sit on are just lovely. Would highly recommend to everyone looking at a special gathering. Actually visited back in 2022!

Wow what a holiday!

Wow what a holiday! Am so thrilled we found Skendleby Hall as our venue to celebrate my dads 70th birthday, it was absolutely perfect. We had 19 adults, 5 children and 3 dogs and had the most amazing time. I’m sure there were rooms we didn’t even have time to use!! Amanda was simply the best host, I was a pain as needed constant reassurance through an earlier blip with a different holiday company and Amanda truly made me so at ease with the booking all the way through. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and I know the family feel the same way.

60th Birthday Weekend

This is a beautiful house and gardens. There is plenty to occupy everyone of all ages. We came to celebrate two 60th birthdays and everyone had a great time and would love to come back. The Blacksmiths arms pub just up the road is highly recommened. We will be coming back for another visit. I would definately recommend this beautiful house and gardens to anyone.

We had our wedding weekend at the stunning skendleby hall last weekend.
It was absolutely perfect. The owners Ruth & David was so helpful, the setting is wonderful and the facilities excellent.
Guests from far and wide all loved their stay.
Couldn’t have chosen a more special place for our special day.

Visitors from Canada

As visitors from Canada, our weekend wedding experience at this large country home was very special. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. Beds and linens were top quality and many rooms came with splendid views. Owners were super helpful. The beach is a fun, 20 minute drive away. Highly recommended for all ages. We were impressed.

80th birthday

From the moment we contacted Skendleby to the moment we sadly had to leave and go home, it was a great experience. Answered any questions promptly and were on hand throughout to make it a very memorable family get together for an 80th birthday. The snooker room is amazing, the grounds beautiful and the dining room, kitchens, hot tub, sauna…well, all great. Wasn’t a single bedroom that wasn’t spacious or full of character and the whole propertly is really well looked after. If you can, go.

Amazing wedding venue!

We had our wedding here the weekend before Christmas and it was perfect. The venue was beautiful anyway but was also decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations. Ruth and David were so easy to work with and very supportive to make our big day special. The rooms for guests were lovely and had a real home from home feel. I especially appreciated the hot tub the day after the wedding to relax 😌. I can not wait to have another family get together at the Hall.

A beautifully maintained house, which has been thoughtfully equipped to provide entertainment for guests of all ages! We had a wonderful family gathering!

A great space

A great space, the photos do not do it justice. Beautiful in and out with great hosts who are always there to help with any questions.

We also used Chocolate Fairy for a catered meal in which was outstanding.

Beautiful wedding venue

We couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our wedding. It was a wonderful day and the scenery around the Hall was perfect for photos. Ruth and David were brilliant at making sure everything went smoothly on the day. We look forward to visiting again… this time for a family holiday!

An amazing holiday house!

We, 22 of us ranging in age from 7 to 77, have just spent an amazing week at Skendleby Hall. It is a fantastic holiday property, it’s large, it’s rooms are spacious, there’s room for everyone to find a favourite place. The bedrooms, all 13 of them, were beautifully decorated and often included antique items and the beds were very comfortable. Downstairs we kept finding more and more rooms often containing lovely Persian rugs. The kitchens, 2 of them, are very well equipped even down to 2 different types of cocktail shakers! We need to return to enjoy it all over again.
